CAG ONE Diamond grinding wheels are professional skate sharpening wheels designed for long service life, repeatable sharpening results and simplified day-to-day operation. They use CBN – Cubic Boron Nitride technology and are available in six predefined Radius of Hollow options.
CAG ONE Diamond grinding wheels are the core of the sharpening system used in the CAG ONE Diamond automatic skate sharpener. Unlike conventional grinding wheels, they do not require regular dressing or reshaping of the working surface with an additional dressing tool.
Each Diamond wheel has a factory-defined ROH – Radius of Hollow. Select the required ROH, install the appropriate wheel and the machine is ready for the selected sharpening setup.
An extremely hard abrasive material designed for long-lasting, stable performance in professional skate sharpening.
Each CAG ONE Diamond wheel has a predefined Radius of Hollow without the need for regular surface reshaping.
The CBN construction is designed for intensive commercial use and reduced grinding wheel replacement frequency.
Stable grinding wheel geometry supports consistent hollow geometry from one skate sharpening cycle to the next.
CAG ONE Diamond grinding wheels use CBN – Cubic Boron Nitride, an extremely hard abrasive material used in applications where durability and thermal resistance are important.
According to the manufacturer, CBN offers hardness approaching that of diamond while providing very high resistance to heat. In professional skate sharpening, this is intended to reduce wear of the working surface and changes in grinding wheel geometry during use.
The manufacturer compares this with approximately 50 pairs for the competing solutions referenced in its materials. Based on this comparison, CAG ONE states that a Diamond wheel can provide up to approximately 20 times more sharpening cycles per wheel.
This can be particularly important for ice rinks, skate rental operations and professional skate service centres where a large number of skates are sharpened every day.
One of the key advantages of the CAG ONE Diamond system is that regular dressing and reshaping of the grinding wheel surface is not required in the same way as with a conventional grinding wheel.
With a traditional system, the operator must prepare the grinding wheel surface to create the required ROH. With CAG ONE Diamond, the hollow geometry is defined by the selected Diamond wheel version.
Changing the ROH therefore primarily involves installing the Diamond wheel with the required Radius of Hollow.
CAG ONE Diamond CBN grinding wheels are available in six different ROH – Radius of Hollow options. ROH describes the radius of the hollow created between the two edges of the skate blade.
Selecting the appropriate ROH allows the sharpening characteristics to be adapted to the requirements of the skater.
For the same blade width, a smaller ROH value creates a deeper hollow, while a larger ROH value creates a shallower hollow.
One of the important properties of CBN technology is its high resistance to wear and to heat generated during grinding.
According to the manufacturer, CAG ONE Diamond grinding wheels are designed to reduce surface wear, changes in wheel geometry and overheating throughout their service life.
This is particularly important for repeatable skate sharpening, because the geometry of the grinding surface directly affects the hollow created in the skate blade.
The Diamond system was developed primarily for professional and commercial skate sharpening.
CAG ONE Diamond CBN grinding wheels may be particularly suitable for:
A sharpening system focused on simplicity, durability and fewer operator preparation steps.
Each wheel has a predefined ROH and does not require regular reshaping of the working surface.
CBN technology is designed for long service life and intensive professional use.
A conventional skate sharpening system using White or Pink grinding wheels.
The grinding wheel surface is prepared for the required ROH using the appropriate Spinner tool.
This system gives the operator greater control over grinding wheel preparation for a specific sharpening setup.
According to the manufacturer, CAG ONE Diamond grinding wheels use CBN – Cubic Boron Nitride. It is an extremely hard abrasive material with high thermal resistance, designed for demanding grinding applications.
CAG ONE states that one Diamond grinding wheel can sharpen approximately 1,000 pairs of skates. Actual service life may vary depending on operating conditions and the condition of the skate blades being sharpened.
Not in the same way as a conventional grinding wheel. Each CAG ONE Diamond wheel has predefined ROH geometry and, according to the manufacturer, does not require regular reshaping of its working surface.
The available Radius of Hollow options are: 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8" and 3/4".
To use a different ROH, install the CAG ONE Diamond grinding wheel with the required hollow radius. Each version has its own predefined sharpening geometry.
Yes. The manufacturer positions CBN Diamond technology for professional skate sharpening services, ice rinks and other facilities that perform a high number of sharpening cycles.
If you are unsure which Radius of Hollow is appropriate, contact CAG ONE Poland and tell us which types of skates you sharpen and what sharpening characteristics you want to achieve. We can help you select the appropriate Diamond wheel.
Do you need a replacement Diamond grinding wheel for your CAG ONE skate sharpener? Available ROH options range from 3/8" to 3/4". We can help you select the appropriate Radius of Hollow for your sharpening requirements and typical application.
